Prevent A Holiday Plumbing Disaster

The holiday season is upon us, and although no one really discusses it—your plumbing is put under an inordinate amount of stress. As you host more, so does your toilet. This puts additional pressure on your septic system.

Make sure your sewage line is up to the task, so you don’t have to find out your line is malfunctioning the hard way. There is nothing worse than exposed sewage, especially when you have family and friends visiting.

Avoid a major septic tank disaster by learning the signs that your sewage line is heading towards a breakdown. Sewage is definitely not the holiday decor you were going for.

Signs Your Sewage Line Is Malfunctioning

There Is Visible Waste In Your Backyard

If you have pooling wastewater in your yard—your sewer line is undoubtedly broken. A severely clogged drain, a cracked main line, or a malfunctioning septic pipe can cause your sewer line to rupture. Luckily, the pooling water acts as a directory to where your fracture is located, and professional plumbers will be able to easily assess and repair your sewage line.

You Are Experiencing Repetitive Back Ups and Clogs

If you have a clog in the mainline of your home, you will experience sewage backups in multiple drains. If every time you flush your toilet, use your sinks, showers, or baths, you are encountering a clog—your mainline needs professional attention. If you only have one drain that repetitively backs-up, this is not a mainline problem.

There are a few likely causes of your consecutive backups and blockages. Tree root infiltration, cracks in your piping, or misaligned plumbing connections all affect the integrity of your plumbing.

In order to discover the culprit of your plumbing problems, Green Planet Plumbing & Sewer, LLC will conduct a sewer line video inspection.

With our specific technology, we can assess 360 degrees of your plumbing, and get a real-time view of what is affecting your pipes. This allows for expedited inspection and speedy diagnosis, so your sewage line is ready for the holidays.

There Is A Strong Odor In Your Home

Your sewer line is supposed to be airtight. This means that there should be no sewage odors wafting throughout your home. So, if you smell foul odors, don’t ignore your nose! Sometimes your nose knows before you do.

If you notice rank odors, your sewer line is most likely fractured, releasing those odors into your home. A cracked sewage line must be addressed immediately, as a broken sewage line can lead to additional issues within your home—such as mold.

You Have Mold

A broken sewage line will raise the humidity levels in your home, creating a conducive environment for mold growth. Mold spreads fast, so if you notice bad odors, do not waft them away. Contact Green Planet Plumbing & Sewer, LLC for professional sewer line repair.

You Are Having A Pest And Rodent Problem

With unusually high levels of moisture in your home, pests will be drawn to your space. Cockroaches and other insects can slip through minuscule cracks in a malfunctioning sewer line and make camp in your space.

Rodents are also a potential byproduct of a cracked sewer line. Rats live in sewers, and when a pipe is broken, a pathway is forged for rats to enter your home. You will want to schedule a sewage line inspection.

If you detect any of the above sewage line symptoms, contact Green Planet Plumbing & Sewer, LLC, at (206) 207-7625, for sewage line inspections and repairs. We want to make sure your holiday season goes off without a hitch!

I have used green planet a few times. One time was an emergency clog, They were prompt and reasonably priced. Their most recent visit was planned work that was needed on my older home. They were honest and fair, did quality work, answered all my questions, explained my options and gave me sound advice. Green planet is who I call whenever I have a plumbing need. They have always done right by me

Justin rocks. He is incredibly knowledgeable and professional. Keeps it clean and courteous. As a contractor, I have had him and the green planet team rough in and trim out multiple jobs and even work on my own home. Couldn’t recommend a better plumber.

I am SO relieved to have found Green Planet, a plumber I can trust. For years, I had a colleague in my business networking group who did amazing work without bait and switch and ridiculous markup, but he retired. Green Planet came recommended by my next door neighbor. They first did routine maintenance on my rental unit, but this week I called them with a bit of urgency. My water shut off valve snapped off, thankfully when I was not in an emergency, like a burst water pipe. I decided to have them also fix a toilet that on occasion would run for hours and an exterior spigot that was shooting water the wrong direction. Technician arrived within 45 minutes, took a look at everything, and provided a written estimate. He discussed what could go wrong once we removed drywall and fixtures, but made every effort to work diligently to avoid these scenarios. One of the main issues would be the presence of old, corroded, pipes versus modern pex. He had the spigot and toilet fixed quickly and then focused on the main project. Steady lines on the drywall removal help make it easy for me to replace that. Once done, even with a quick parts run to the warehouse, he was wrapped in about 90 minutes with everything looking great. We discussed my aging hot water heater, and options to install an upgraded toilet, so I can make plans to budget those projects down the road. Such a relief to have a company I can trust after some bad experiences with the big brands you see on TV (I see how those types of companies can afford big splashy campaigns).

We had a really great experience with Eddie from Green Planet. We had a shower faucet that was leaking, and also the handle had completely separated from the faucet. Green Planet doesn’t change for an estimate which was really appreciated, and also their estimate to replace the cartridge in the faucet was less than half what other companies had charged us for the same service. We were weighing whether to replace the entire faucet, and he gave us helpful thoughts on that as well. We chose to go with a cartridge replacement because to replace the faucet they would have had to open up a wall. We didn’t have a dry waller in mind. The repair was fast and works great. Thanks so much Green Planet!

It was a pleasure to have Justin and Henry replace our hot water tank and snake out our kitchen sink drain. They were very pleasant and easy to talk to and made sure all questions and concerns were answered. Very rapid response, I called for an estimate and they were here the next day. I approved the work and they were able to start the work the following day. They arrived early and got right to work. They protected all exposed surfaces before starting. When complete they made certain that we understood how to operate the controls on the tank and explained all they did. All at a reasonable cost. We definitely will call Green Planet Plumbing again for any future plumbing needs.
